Built environment maps show how conditions vary across each city. The map legend shows the national minimum, median, and maximum levels.

Vulnerable population maps show where vulnerable people live. Cooler colours indicate values below the national median level, and warmer colours indicate values above the national median.

Equity priority maps show areas where the beneficial built environment levels are worse than the city-specific median AND the percentage of vulnerable people is higher than the city-specific median. Darker colours indicate where the highest proportions of a vulnerable population lives and the lowest levels of a beneficial environment overlap.

The built environment and vulnerable population maps can help you assess the Equity Priority maps. For example, if the built environment map shows mostly beneficial levels compared to the national median, the equity priority areas in the city may still be considered generally healthy environments overall.
